Help a sistah out!

So my band's doing this fundraiser thing for this nonprofit organization called 826LA, which is a center for creative writing and tutoring for local kids. 826 has centers across the nation, and they do after school tutoring as well as creative workshops. We got to see the local one. It's really cool and creative. They have a store front that uses the theme of time travel.

Anyway, so we're doing this 826LA Battle of the Bands at The Echo. Some of the kids were involved in a songwriting workshop with Kate Micucci, and they wrote songs. We got the lyrics and set them to music. Last night I was in rehearsals with the band, and I realized I'm soooo excited to be doing this. At first it was kind of stressful, since we aren't really used to writing this way. But we pushed our limits and really put in a lot of effort into it, and I think the result is fantastic. Even if we don't end up winning, I think the experience was totally worth it.

If you can, I'm asking that you help us out with our fundraising. We really want to help this organization, since I know that I wouldn't be where I am now without one person who pushed me to write creatively when I was 13 years old.

Pledges over $30 are tax-deductible and come with free admission to the live all-ages show on March 1 with access to the VIP lounge!

Pledges over $50 get you all that, plus an invite to the VIP pre-party the night before (Feb 28 at
Nettwerk Music Group in Hollywood)—there will be cocktails if you are 21+, mocktails if you're not, a short set by the headlining band AND a short film screening of: Viva Morrissey!, a documentary short about The Smiths' Latino fanbase in LA by Jessica Hundley.

But don't feel obligated to donate that much. Every dollar helps. We're also playing a bunch shows soon. We will also be selling t-shirts for $15 (and some are now available in black)! ALL PROFITS from these upcoming shows (through Feb 27th) will be going to 826LA. So please come out, bring your friends, "Feed the Viper" and have a great time! We will be collecting cash and check donations at the shows. Credit/debit card donations can be made via the website (Click on one of our names to sponsor us).
